【產品典故敘述】
陶器中的【交趾燒】原本是我國明末清初在福建或廣東一帶以塗上色釉而燒成的軟質陶器。其被稱謂「交趾燒」的原因是這種陶器大部分適用以裝填「香藥品」的容器、體積較小，當時日本通往南洋一帶的貿易船把它引進日本而被命名。而由於當時之作品嬌小玲瓏造型極美，所以被喜歡「茶道」的日本人大為賞識而用為「香合」，更由於交趾燒都有極美的造型，因此又被稱為「型物香合」。而其製作以「堆線放」框取圖案，再以敘路為界，再上釉色。而據說這種方法是繼承名匠「法花」的技藝法統。

交趾陶在十八世紀傳入台灣，主要用在廟宇的裝飾藝術，其間出了一位奇人葉麟趾先生〈民間尊稱葉王，約明末清初〉，葉王有雕塑泥土的天份，也醉心於古釉方的研究與實驗，使台灣的交趾陶在藝術上的成就遠遠超過發源地。

相傳，葉王在學甲慈濟宮燒陶，附近學甲兵鎮的一匹戰馬經常到廟埕前遊玩戲耍，葉王一時興起，便以這隻戰馬為樣，塑了一件交趾陶來裝飾慈濟宮，當作品完成之時，戰馬突然精神萎靡，奄奄一息，件過葉王作品的人認為；葉王把戰馬塑造的太神似了，在釉燒的時候奪了戰馬的精氣。葉王望著這件完美的交趾陶，概然長嘆將之擲毀於廟埕之前。在此同時，那匹戰馬突然精神抖擻，雄姿依然。這個傳說將當時台灣交趾陶的燒製發揮到極致。
總統多次外交之旅，所帶禮物貨櫃中，最具本土特色的交趾陶，即為必備禮品之一，可見交趾燒不可動搖的「國寶」地位，其除了是廟宇中深具民俗特色的裝飾品，亦具相當的藝術收藏價值。
中國古代把龍象徵權威、尊貴，而儀態端方的鳳凰象徵著美麗、仁愛。兩者結合則是太平盛世，高貴吉祥的表現。以後民間又把結婚之喜比作 龍鳳呈祥，也是對富貴、吉祥的希望和祝願。
